5th JMap User Conference – A milestone event!

Montreal, November 2nd, 2009 - The K2 Geospatial (formerly KHEOPS) team would like to thank all those who attended the 5th JMap user conference held on October 20, 2009 at Montreal's Olympic StadiumTower. This event was an important milestone in the history of the company andthe K2 team appreciated sharing this occasionwith JMap users and business partners.

To launch the conference, Jacques Charron, President and General Manager of K2 Geospatial, presented hiscorporative vision, officially unveiled the company's new name and spoke of thereasons which brought about this change. His speech, both humorous and friendly set the mood for the conference. On this occasion, K2 Geospatial also introduced a new Web site www.k2geospatial.com as well as a marketing and communication strategy.

Everyone agrees that the highlight of this event was the launching of JMap 4.0. This version includes several architectural, fonctional and ergonomic enhancements, as well as newclient interfaces in Java, Open Layer and BlackBerry. To close the first part ofthe conference, K2 Geospatial presented its strategies for data migration and tutoring.

The second half of theconference was devoted to JMap partners who impressed all participants with their technology and expertise. K2 Geospatial would like to thank all thespeakers: Jean-Charles Génois (Outsource Service), Benoît Géoris (KEENEO), Djaffar Abdou (IFCS), Maryse Bergeron (Somum Solution), LucD'Amours (PG Govern), Alex Moosz (Radar 911), Chantale Arguin (Groupe Trifide)and Jonathan Boivin (Intercel Communication).

Since its creation in 1995, K2Geospatial has been well-known for the development of interactive GISsolutions. Its mission: provide easy access to spatial information. JMap, its flagship product, operates on Web technologies, allowing organizations to distribute their georeferenced applications and data intelligence throughout corporate, public and mobile networks to non-technicians and decision makers.  JMap is a neutral solution, works in all data and technology environments and reads without conversion most industry-standards spatial databases and servers. JMap can also be extended via a Software Development Kit (SDK) in Java.
